How should a founder who travels constantly keep training?

By lowering the target, not dropping it. On the road, protect a floor: one real session every seventy-two hours, even twenty minutes in a hotel room, the same daily steps as at home, a fixed wake time and a protein target. Sleep and food get tighter when training gets smaller. Nothing restarts on Monday.

Why travel breaks most routines

Most people try to run their home routine on the road. It fails by Wednesday, and the failure spreads. The gym goes, so dinner goes, so bedtime goes, so the trip is written off and the restart is scheduled for when they get home.

The missed session was never the problem. The three days after it were. Travel is where most people quietly lose months, not because they trained less, but because one pillar took the other three with it.

The floor for the road

A plan that survives real life has two settings. The floor, which you hold in any conditions, and everything above it, which you do when the day allows. On the road the floor is:

Do those four and you come home level instead of wrecked. Everything else is a bonus.

When the week goes sideways anyway

Some trips leave no gap at all. That is when the other pillars get tighter, not looser. Light early, water and salt, a few minutes of breathing, push-ups between two meetings, a real dinner instead of a third drink. That is not a failed week. That is the plan running correctly in bad conditions.

When you land, you do not double up to catch up, and you do not restart from day one. You pick up exactly where you stopped. If you missed more than five days, run one lighter week before going back to full loads.

Short answers

What can I do in a hotel room with no equipment?

Enough to hold the floor. Push-ups, split squats, a single-leg hinge, a plank and a carry with your own bag or a backpack. Twenty minutes, every seventy-two hours, keeps the strength you built at home.

Should I train when I am jet-lagged?

Yes, but lighter. When you are tired, drop the load, never the reps. Take about twenty percent off and finish the session. Get daylight early in the new time zone and walk.

How do I stop a trip turning into a lost month?

Hold the floor on the road and skip the restart when you land. Pick up at the next meal and the next session. The people who get somewhere are not the ones who never miss. They are the ones who resume cleanly.

Educational, not medical advice. If you have a diagnosed condition, symptoms that worry you, or are under a doctor's care, speak to your doctor before changing how you train, eat or sleep.
